Heather Tasker-Brown (Founder)

I am a certified Club Professional 1 with nearly 20 years of coaching experience. I bring a collaborative teaching style to the court, emphasizing each players’ strengths to instill confidence on and off the court. As a Coach Facilitator for the Tennis Professional Association, I hope to have a positive impact on the next generation of tennis instructors by sharing best practices for keeping girls in sport. I am passionate about empowering girls to reach their full potential. Tennis has positively contributed to my physical and mental health and gifted me with lifelong friendships. I am deeply committed to creating a supportive environment for the participants of In Her Court so they can thrive both in sport and life!

Selkie Smith

I am dedicated to keeping girls engaged in sports, with a focus on empowering young female athletes to have fun and reach their goals. I have a diverse background in various sports, most prominently martial arts and tennis, which helps me understand the hopes and goals of the young athletes I coach. As a young female athlete myself, I hope to create a supportive and inclusive environment for girls to train, helping them develop confidence, resilience, and a love for tennis and physical activity. After getting my level one tennis coaching certification, I intended to use it for a meaningful program which is why I was so thrilled to be included in “In Her Court”. The values of female empowerment and inclusivity match mine so perfectly.

Eva Miller

Eva is originally from Hamburg, Germany where she started playing tennis on beautiful red clay courts. Her game based approach was shaped at Tennis Academies in Toronto where she earned her Club Pro and Coach 2 Certification. Noticing a lack of female leadership and female role models she started girls programs in Kelowna BC that quickly grew. She has also enjoyed mentoring girls in this sport and helped them gain confidence and grow into leaders on and off the court.
