About Us
With close to 40 years of counselling and coaching tennis, I saw the need for an accessible girls-only tennis program. In Her Court combines my two passions to offer a program that addresses both the physical and mental well-being of its participants. Our goal is to remove the barriers preventing girls from playing and staying in tennis.
I am a Tennis Canada Certified Club Professional 1 and hold degrees in Social Work and Psychology. I am a mentor for the Tennis Canada Leadership Program: Keeping Girls in the Game. In addition to coaching tennis at Bear Mountain Tennis Centre and Panorama Recreation, I currently work as a Youth and Family Counsellor in School District 63.

Vision
In Her Court’s vision is to increase girls’ participation in tennis and to develop strong social-emotional skills to promote a lifetime of health and well-being both physically and emotionally.

Mission
Our mission is to create a safe environment for girls so that they are empowered to reach their personal potential both in sport and life.
We TEACH with Fun!
Teamwork
Supporting each other and working together improves our effort and leads to improved individual and team performance.
Empowerment
The ability to recognize and celebrate our own and someone else’s potential. To develop the belief that one has power and control over one’s own life.
Acceptance
The acceptance of oneself and others on the court and in life. Accepting our mistakes and recognizing them as an opportunity to learn from them to help improve our game and individual growth.
Community
The belief that it is beneficial for each of us to be part of a larger group, including one’s family, team, school and the larger community.
Health
The importance of taking care of our physical, social and mental health as part of our overall well-being.
Fun
Tennis should be fun! Having fun allows us to connect and create bonds; be motivated to learn; practice and play as well as the reason we come back for more!
